coco coffee table
After reading some reviews I was worried about assembly but I was able to put it together solo as a small woman no problem. I found the instructions to be clear and straightforward. The only part I found a bit challenging was screwing the final drawer racks on as there were no predrilled holes. The table looks great and the build quality is excellent for the price! Hoping my cat takes well to it!
Customer service; A+++++, exemplary and couldn't fault them. They helped track down the package when it failed to be delivered (turned out it couldn't be delivered to my post box, even though I was allowed to order it to be sent there, and it was waiting for me at the Purolater depot but Purolater/the tracking info never informed me!) Customer service was great, very prompt to reply, very helpful and polite and apologetic.
Table: very high quality, sturdy, well made. Glass feels strong. My cats LOVE the tunnel and I find it amusing to watch them skulk through it!
Negatives: smaller surface area than my old coffee table, and it's pretty low too but I expected that because they provide you with the measurements. It was also a BEAST to put together. I'm female and it was too heavy to carry the box into the living room on my own (it was also too wide to carry through the doorway on my dolly) so I opened the box in my garage and transported the pieces into the living room separately. Easy solution. I assembled it on my own and it took about 1.5 - 2 hours. It was probably the hardest thing I've ever assembled and to be honest I don't know how I managed it. The manual isn't the clearest in places and there was one step I had to disassemble and re-do because I had the boards the wrong side up. It was very finicky in places and I almost tore my hair out at one point, but I soldiered on. Attaching the railings for the drawer was also very tricky as the holes didn't match what was in the diagram, so I had to do a lot of visualizing to choose the correct holes to put the screws through.
Also, there were some little round pieces with spikes on them (I think they're supposed to be feet for the table?) but no holes in the wood to insert them into. I tried just pressing them into the wood but they wouldn't go in, so I just didn't end up attaching them. Not sure but they might have been to protect my floor, but I just don't know how they're meant to attach.
Also I was left with a LOT of spare screws and hardware, more than the usual "one or two extra", which makes me think I missed a step. But it's assembled and holding together so I think it's fine.
I used my electric drill to assemble it. It specifically says not to but I used it very gingerly so as not to cause damage. That definitely saved time and saved my wrists, as there were a LOT of screws.
The final step has you inserting screws all around the base, which fixes everything in place and makes the whole thing very strong and stable. I don't feel like it would break easily. I think the only thing that could possibly break in the future is the glass pane, perhaps if someone slams down a coffee mug too hard. Lucky for me I live alone and I don't drink coffee and I don't drink from mugs XD
Seriously though, it's a really nice table, looks great and is very high quality and durable. It was hard to assemble, and the fact that it is so low and has not much surface area to it would be a negative but they were very open about the dimensions so that can't be held against them! They did a GREAT job of including all the storage (some small, narrow shelves and a sizeable drawer) given it has a massive cat tunnel passing through it!
I attach a picture of all the leftover hardware I have. Six dowels, seven screws, three cams, three pin bits (that go into the cams), and 9 what I can only assume were meant to be feet but I couldn't figure out how to attach them as there weren't any holes to insert them into and they don't just press in... despite all this leftover hardware it feels very well put together and doesn't feel on the verge of falling apart. Very scratchy on my floor but having feet would help, if only I could figure out how to insert them. Speaking of, I'm going to do what I should've done already and message customer service to ask for their advice as I'm sure they'll respond and be helpful.
Long story short, I love this table. It looks great and my cats enjoy the tunnel. If it makes them happy, I'm happy!
My cats absolutely love it. They took to it very well and relax inside.
Instructions vould use some work.
While the table is nice, the instructions to assemble are not super clear. Also, one some of the pieces are too short and don't fit together properly so I had to just leave it like it was. Therefore, one part of the table is not completely together.
Really great piece. The furniture feels really solid for a flat pack for table, and all of the needed screws, nuts, nails all come with more than enough for you to properly build. It looks great in person and is a really good size. It's completely worth the price and you won't have any regrets buying this for your home and pets.
The only real improvement would be the actual instructions for putting things together, it's not always clear what orientation the different pieces should be in (and it really matters for the side and bottom piece, and it was incredibly difficult to decipher how some pieces were meant to slot together. It definitely requires patience, and going slow with your best judgement too fill in some of the blanks left by the booklet. If you get easily frustrated by putting together furniture, I recommend doing this with another person who can help.
